Sec 1 Recruitment

Sec 1 Recruitment

Dear all councilors,

There will be a sec 1 recruitment drive on one of the dates from 17th-19th December.

We will need to standby from 22nd-23rd December as well.

Owais will be in charge of the collection of attendance for the mentioned dates.

If you need to go overseas for holiday trip with your family, or have some important matters to attend to, do inform him that you are not able to make it. Reasons for not attending have to be supported by your passport or your parents' call.

We will be planning for our sec 1 orientation camp on the mentioned dates also, probably after the recruitment drive. So you can start cracking your brains now to brainstorm for ideas on how to make the orientation camp a fun and organized event.

Review Sessions

Review Sessions

Dear all councilors,

As mentioned by Mr Dinesh during our camp debrief today, there will be an approximate of 4 review sessions, starting from 2009. These review sessions are in place to uphold the quality of service and conduct of the council. As role models and ambassadors of the school, all of you should have a keen awareness on the roles and responsibilities that you are assigned on. Therefore, do the right things at the right moments, with the right mentalities. Be a proud Canberran who always live up to the code of learning with passion, living with integrity and serving with distinction. All of you are definitely capable of that :).

Having mentioned that, there will be criteria with which you need to uphold in order to maintain your status as a student councilor.

1 - Conduct (Refer to student handbook)
2 - Attire, inclusive of school socks (Refer to student handbook)
3 - Academic results: A pass in english and above 50% for overall
4 - Attendance for councilor duties.

First time offender will be given a warning.
Second time offender will be suspended from the council.
Third time offender will be banned from the council.

The review sessions will be based on the above mentioned criteria and carried out in each of the school terms. Councilors who will be/have been warned or suspended will have additional review sessions with their teacher in charge on whether their status will be lifted.

Term 1 - Compulsory for all. Individual session with your teacher in charge.

Term 2 - Only for selected councilors who will be/have been warned.

Term 3 - Only for selected councilors will be/have been warned or suspended.

Term 4 - Compulsory for all.

Take note that these are not restrictions on you, but simply the basics to fulfil even as students, as human beings. As role models for all your peers, all the more you should behave appropriately and be the proud Canberrans that each and everyone of you is capable of! :)
